Whole30 Week 1

Bonjour! Today, I thought I’d bring to you a recap of our second, first week of Whole30! (You can read about our original Whole14 here). I’d like to think I’m doing this post because I think you might be interested in reading about it but mostly, I’m avoiding having to write a nicely detailed post at the end. Sorry, not sorry. Why We Decided to Get Married

Hello interweb! As many people have probably already stated, I can’t believe its already 2018! I say that every year, but this year has a bit more weight to it because well, Steven and I are getting hitched in about 4 months. All of last year, I could say “we still have time, it’s next year” blah blah blah. I clearly don’t have a basic understanding for how time works because while it was technically “next year” it was never 12 months away. And here we are, 4 months away and uh, there is a lot to be done. Anywho, in an attempt to procrastinate more, I’m starting up a section with my friends from WeddingWire to document some of my experiences, some resources I’ve found helpful and everything wedding planning leading up to the big day. 10 Things Noodle Does That We Should Do Too.

  Run as fast as you can, even if you look crazy Because it gets your energy out and maybe will encourage your friends to chase you and run too. Be super excited about nothing A loved one comes home? Smile! Jump up and down! Spin around in circles! Maybe pee a little! (and hope that your loved one loves you enough to clean up after you). CSA Today!

Season’s greetings! It is finally that time of the year. The time where it is getting cold enough to make any normal task seem horribly inconvenient and daunting. Like having to pee in the morning but knowing that beyond your warm, cuddly duvet is an ice cold floor and blizzard-like-ceiling-fan winds that will cut through your pants-less legs like glass. This time of year also makes me mildly dramatic. Luckily for us, one thing that has helped us limit one of these trips outside into the cold has been our CSA farm share with the Lancaster Farm Fresh Co-op (LFFC). If you aren’t familiar with CSAs (Community Supported Agriculture) they work like this. Members of the CSA (like me) commit to helping local farmers sustain their farms by paying for their share of a season’s harvest completely up front. This gives farmers the ability to purchase what they need to be one season ahead of the game and results in a more sustainable farming endeavor. The members, in turn, get lots of organic goodies that …

Crockpot Talk: Chicken Edition

Since we got Noodle a little over a month ago a lot has changed. We now spend everyday trying to keep a puppy alive We go up and down the elevator about 16 times in a 24 hour period The conversation in our apartment is mostly about the consistency of Noodle’s most recent poop, if we think she is happy and how long it’ll be until she doesn’t have to go potty 16 times a day We have made dinner at home almost every single night I’ll chronicle Noodle’s arrival and give you all an update on her in a later post. How Moving Made Me a Better Person (but not before making me a terrible person first)

There are a lot of things in this life that can get me cranky Hanging a towel over a door instead of a towel hook (I’m looking at you, Steven.) “Soaking” the dishes instead of washing them (….Steven…) People honking right when the light turns green (OK, Steven, you’re off the hook on this one.) Not picking up after your doggie does his/her business People who lean up against poles on the metro so that no one else can grab onto them in a crowded car People who fart on a crowded metro car and pretend to continue “reading” their book. Here’s to 2017

Another cliche new years resolution coming at cha! Just kidding. Just think of it as a post laying out some goals and aspirations for the next 365 days that just happens to be published at the beginning of January. Last year for New Years Resolutions, I went total blogger-psycho laying out 52 new thing I was going to try for the year (1 for each week) and failed. To be fair, I did actually experience a few things that were on the list, but in the end, I’m not sure I really achieved or learned anything overall. That is a lie. I learned that without television, my life is very, very quiet. This year, with a year of blogging under my belt, I know better and have some clarity on how I want my 2017 to look. Finish Ironman Atlantic City One of my biggest physical goals for the year is to complete my first Ironman 70.3 in Atlantic City. I’ll (hopefully) be swimming 1.2 miles, biking 56 and finishing off with a breezy 13.1 …
