Since I’ve started ClassPass I’ve been hitting up a lot of the same spots: barre3, Ryde (you can read my review on that here) and some yoga. While I love my staple spaces, I have been really jones’in to get back to my lax days and get my butt kicked with some interval style workouts. You know, burpess, ropes, weights, flinging a keg over a bar. The norm. I found a few spaces near me in Arlington but was hesitant to go since: 1) I haven’t done that kind of workout in awhile and 2) Even when I was in my college prime…I was pretty bad at them. Sorry coach! All the classes I was looking at were about an hour long and I just envisioned myself sucking wind and then having to have someone put wind into me in the form of CPR when I passed out. Ryde by Revolve– Clarendon

I have been wanting to try ClassPass for probably 2 years. I loved watching my favorite fitness Instagramers get to try all different types of workouts on a “budget”. Classes including surfing, trampoline, aqua-biking and paddle-board yoga had me ready to jump on the CP wagon. Unfortunately, when I went to check out D.C’s ClassPass offerings, I was slightly disappointed, being met with a majority of barre and pilates studios (which I wasn’t a huge fan of). Now, I’m an older, more open minded, not cardio-centric, Sunnie and I’m ready to tackle every barre, pilates, spinning, pole dancing, karate, boxing studio in Arlington and DC! Here’s to 2017

Another cliche new years resolution coming at cha! Just kidding. Just think of it as a post laying out some goals and aspirations for the next 365 days that just happens to be published at the beginning of January. Last year for New Years Resolutions, I went total blogger-psycho laying out 52 new thing I was going to try for the year (1 for each week) and failed. To be fair, I did actually experience a few things that were on the list, but in the end, I’m not sure I really achieved or learned anything overall. That is a lie. I learned that without television, my life is very, very quiet. This year, with a year of blogging under my belt, I know better and have some clarity on how I want my 2017 to look. Finish Ironman Atlantic City One of my biggest physical goals for the year is to complete my first Ironman 70.3 in Atlantic City. Getting LGFIT

  After the Nation’s Tri, I kind of, sort of, definitely lost all motivation to be active. This about sums it up. Aside from it being the end of the race season, I was just really overwhelmed and stressed with a lot of things and of course, the first thing to fall off my “priorities” list was anything that had to do was eating right, working out and sadly, blogging. It actually worked out perfectly that at that time, my friend Lauren reached out to me to ask if I wanted to try her 6 week personal coaching/training service. I  gladly agreed, knowing it would help me get back on track with fitness, but having no idea what a profound effect it would have on the rest of well-being. Lauren is an old high-school friend. She actually, un-knowing to me, grew up a mere 5 houses away from me my entire childhood. I’m sure I missed out on some good times as a kid! Tri-ing one year later.

2 weeks ago, I completed the Nations Triathlon. Well, it was actually turned into a Biathlon because the Potomac’s water didn’t meet regulation for “full human body contact” aka, it was full of poop…. again. 2/3 of a tri? Big bummer. Waking up at 5AM to complete a swim, bike and run? Fun! Waking up at 5 AM to just bike and run? Boo. I seriously considered not showing up until I had a little a nostalgic moment. On the Saturday before the race, Steven drove me to pick up my packet and help me rack my bike. Yes, this may sound familiar becauseee…… He did the same thing last year at my very FIRST triathlon! Traveling to Tri

Apologies for the absence, this summer has been a whirlwind of activities. That is not to be interpreted as “I’m sorry I did all these activities.” because I’m definitely not! That is what summer is for! I plan on doing a total recap of some of the awesome things that happened in the last two months but for now, I thought I’d stick to my most recent race (and first race I’ve traveled for). Steven, my mom and I had decided to go out west and visit Genie because well, we like her a little. Genie and I planned a week o’ fun to ensure we got the most out of our time on the west coast. Fun fact: it was also a momentous occasion because it was Steven’s first time west of the Mississippi! So obviously, we had to make it special. We thought a quick trip to Lake Tahoe would be a perfect start to vacation. Realizing the Dream: A Pokemon Story

A company called Augusta Sports emailed me asking “at what lengths would you go to catch em all?” “Well,” I thought, “that depends.” The email continued and asked if they could send some of their gear to try out on a pokemon hunt/run and to represent my team (yeah team VALOR!).
